This Buncheong porcelain water bottle features the body coated with white slip containing rhythmic gwiyal brush marks. Gwiyal is one of the six major decorative techniques of Buncheong in which the brush marks themselves are the decoration; in this method, white slip is applied by a brush with thick sparse strands. With no decorative designs except for the bold brush marks over the gray surface, the bottle displays delightful rhythmic lines.
