Traditionally, the surface of Korean celadon ceramic ware is covered with "ice cracks," a network of fine craze lines produced either intentionally, because some connoisseurs admired it, or accidentally. The cracks are caused by the glaze and clay body contracting at different rates as they cool after the second firing. However, this particular red flower ceramic vase wasn't made with such cracks.
