This celadon ceramic vase features a unique semi-round body covered with two diamond windows containing red copper paint and inlaid lotus flower design. The lotus design exhibits the traditional inlaying technique by which flowers are in white slip whereas the stalks and leaves are expressed in fine black. The flowers are highlighted by delightful red copper touches.

The design of the lotus, a symbol of Buddha's seat as well as the Western Paradise where Buddha resides, was used extensively for architecture, houseware and personal ornaments.
